Remembering Our Returned Heroes
March 4, 2009
Surrey Services in Berwyn completed  a project to reach out to our veterans at Coatesville VA Medical Center. They asked people to help make lap blankets for the veterans there. The blankets were knitted, crocheted quilted and sewn (fleece). The only requirement is that they were to be red, white and blue colored.

PPC and Cornerstone Christian Academy Benefit Concert
May 2, 2008
PPC and Cornerstone Christian Academy Benefit Concert- Unity in Christ through song, dance, prayer, and new friends The PPC church sanctuary was alive on Friday night with beautiful songs of praise and worship!  Cornerstone Christian Academy's Voices in Praise choir collaborated with The Paoli Presbyterian Church Youth and Cherub choirs to put on an amazing benefit concert for friends, family, and partners.  The evening began with a selection from the PPC choirs.  After a video presentation on CCA's ministry, dancers from Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ performed, followed by a selection from CCA's Voices in Praise Choir.  The evening concluded with "Hail Jesus, You're My King", performed by both choirs.  Cornerstone would like to thank all those who attended and those who gave towards the Love Offering for our continued ministry in Southwest Philadelphia.  We are truly blessed to be partners with PPC and look forward to new ways to partner together in the future. For more information about Cornerstone, please visit www.cornerstonephiladelphia.com

(Courtesy of Suburban and Wayne Times: May 1, 2008)
Radnor-based National Transplant Assistance Fund celebrated its 25th Anniversary on Friday (April 25) by honoring its founders as well as those who donated life-saving organs. NTAF director Lynne Coughlin Samson presented a Community
Heroes Award to the Rev. Robert Rogers, who donated one of his kidneys to the Rev. James A. Churchill, associate pastor at Paoli Presbyterian Church. Also honored was organ donor Dave Huddleston. Dr. Jack and Patricia Kolff, Villanova residents who started the program in 1983, also received special recognition during the ceremony at the Radnor Financial Center where NTAF is based. The event also included a bone-marrow registry drive, which registered 72 potential bone marrow donors.

Bone Marrow Registry: A Success!
March 9, 2008
WAY TO GO PPC DONATORS!  I received a wonderful email on Monday (March 10) from Lynne Sampson, Director of the local chapter of the National Assistance Transplant Donation organization, thanking PPC for a great response to the Bone Marrow Donor program.  Over 50 people completed the necessary forms and the test swab!  Who knows a little swab and ten minutes of your time could save a life!  Thanks to all of you that helped with this outreach project for a special need and a special thanks to Ron & Terri Siggs who "captained" and championed this program.Once again PPC goes the extra mile as we walk together toward the cross and Easter.--Dr. Churchill

Harry Potter Visited PPC!
(well, sort of)
February 2, 2008
What could be more exciting than a handful of Berti Bots' Every Flavored Beans?  Why- being involved in a Harry Potter dialogue with Professor John Granger http://www.hogwartsprofessor.com/  of Allentown, Pa., of course!  Professor Granger used his deep knowledge of classical literature and his great sense of humor to add some "delicious" ideas and some very interesting thoughts to our understanding of the the Christian principles within the Potter novels. All together, we had
102 interested minds join us (PPC, Trinity Presbyterian, and community)  and we had a great evening as John applied the classical position of alchemey (a literary formula of red, black & white) and even the Passion of Christ to illuminate "hidden" aspects of the Potter stories.  As one of our elders said, "Granger was awesome!
